  • Simple educational tools for learning geometry and computer programming

    In this paper we describe simple educational tools developed at IPAK institute for teaching and learning geometry and computer programming. Although computer technology provides a basis for ... sophisticated methods of learning there is still a need to use technically more primitive solutions. We are trying to find the right balance between high-tech educational tools and simple solutions. We developed tools made from wood, plastic or paper, which can be used for learning geometry and computer languages. These tools can be used in different waysč teacher can use them for presentation, pupils and students for individual or group learning, or for playing educational games. Because these tools have to be touched they are especially suitable for individuals, who learn by using bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. From our experience we know that children spend too much time with computers, phones and other electronic gadgets, so using mechanical educational tools could make significant change in their behaviour.
