Odvzem in transport vzorcev urina za mikrobiološke preiskave [Elektronski vir] = Urine sample collection and transport for microbiological examination

Okužbe sečil so, takoj za okužbami dihal, med najpogostejšimi okužbami tako v domačem kot v bolnišničnem okolju in eden od najpogostejših vzrokov za predpisovanje antibiotičnega zdravljenja. Pri ...odraslih je ocenjena letna incidenca okužb sečil 2−3 %. Z vidika javnega zdravja je med drugim skrb vzbujajoče naraščanje odpornosti bakterije Escherichia coli pa tudi drugih povzročiteljev proti večini protimikrobnih zdravil. Zlati standard mikrobiološke preiskave urinov še naprej ostaja urinokultura. Najprimernejši vzorec ob sumu na okužbo sečil je vzorec srednjega curka prvega jutranjega urina. Večina vzorcev je odvzetih neinvazivno, a se zaradi spreminjanja strukture prebivalstva počasi, a vztrajno povečuje tudi delež drugih načinov odvzema. Ob dejstvu, da se tudi občutljivost mikroorganizmov za protimikrobna zdravila nenehno spreminja in da narašča delež odpornih bakterij, narašča tudi potreba po mikrobiološki analizi povzročiteljev okužb in določanju občutljivosti za antibiotike.
