Povpraševanje po pitni vodi v določenih krajih sveta presega zmogljivost oskrbe zaradi različnih razlogov. Z uporabo higroskopskih materialov, ki izkoriščajo sončno energijo je možno oskrobvati zelo ... težko dostopna in sušna področja brez potrebe po elektriki. Z razvojem in nadgradnjo takih tehnologij postaja oskrba s pitno vodo vedno manjši problem. V delu smo predstavili ključne vplivne parametre pri zasnovi takih tehnologij, oblikovali matematični model in njegovo točnost primerjali z rezultati eksperimenta. Eksperiment smo izvedli v dveh stopnjah kjer smo primerjali vpliv uporabe polietilenske folije na proces desorpcije. Pri ustreznih okoliških parametrih in z uporabo polietilenske folije lahko izboljšamo hitrost in količino desorbirane vode.
