  • Scaling laws of hydrodynamic noise generation
    Prek, Matjaž
Noise-source mechanisms for simple fluid valve model were observed and compared with predictions. Hydroacoustic scaling laws for the noise sources were derived by dimensional analysis of governing ... equations. Comparison of the predictions with experimental data indicated that the scaling laws could be further improved with re-examination of the influence of impact parameters. This was made by extended analyze of the influence of geometrical parameters on acoustical characteristics. Additional parameters were determined statistically with non-linear multiple regression analysis of the experimental data. For the applied geometrical and hydrodynamic parameters the estimated correlation between observed and predicted values are good.
