    Background. The rotator cuff injury is best treated according to the presence of pain and extremity disfunction, functional demands of the extremity and thesize of the injuried tissue. The treatment ... of tendinosis, partial and complete tear of the rotator cuff is described. Methods. The goal of treatmentis pain relief, elimination of shoulder sfiffness and to regain continuity and elasticity of the cuff. The arthroscopic technic alone or combined with mini open repair seems to be the method of choice in skilled surgeons hand. Results of prospective study of 16 cases with complete rotator cuff tear treated with arthroscopic decompresion and mini open repair are shown. Conclusion. Optimal management of rotator cuff injury remains confroversial. Experience and ability of the surgeon play an important role.
