  • The preschool teacher : an important factor in promoting child development

    Given the benefits of a child participating in a high-quality preschool education programme for their development, our focus in this paper is an important element of ensuring quality in the ... kindergarten process: the teacher. We present how the education of this profession developed in Slovenia and how that education influenced the formation of the profession of preschool teacher. We then present the basic characteristics of the profession today and finally focus on the profile of the teacher and on the expectations that parents and society have of preschool teachers.
