  • The implementation of Information Literacy Standards ACRL 2 and 5 in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina : masters thesis : with appendixes on CD-ROM

    The paper presents the research conducted with the aim of establishing the level of information literacy of students and faculty in higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and based ... on that to formulate conclusion of the current situation and define possible recommendations for the development and implementation of information literacy programs. The research was carried out based on Information Literacy Competency Standards ACRL 2 and 5, since the author feels that these two standards can provide the most comprehensive information about how information is accessed and used, and if this information is used in a proper manner, in regard to legal and ethical issues. It was conducted at 6 state universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Bihać, Banja Luka, Zenica), among students and faculty. The results of the study can subsequently be used to form a joint curriculum that can be used across higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to increase the level of information literacy of the faculty and students, with the purpose of establishing information literate citizens, ready for the 21st information age.
