    In this work, a new device for cutting stainless steel tubes from heat exchangers in nuclear power plants is developed. Tubes are cut from inside out by the process of dry EDM without servo ... controlled gap. Theoretical part of this work covers a brief introduction to nuclear power plants and EDM process, with emphasis on dry EDM. The practical part of the thesis comprises design development, manufacturing, testing and optimization of newly developed EDM cutting head, selection of suitable electrical pulse generator and optimization of cutting process parameters by applying design of experiments via Taguchi method.
